What Is Student Positioning?
The Student Positioning program is designed to help students find colleges based on social, academic and financial matches. The philosophy of “Student Positioning” was developed in response to the rising cost of higher education and the increasing use of enrollment management principles.
This one of a kind program helps the student reach the goal of finding a college that is a social, academic & financial fit. When we achieve this goal, the student is not only happier but is also more likely to graduate in 4 years. One statistic that stands out is "approximately 50% of students are taking 5 to 6 years to graduate". As you can see, student positioning can save you and your student time as well as money.
Student positioning also helps families qualify for need-based and/or merit money from the colleges. The more merit and need-based money your child receives, the less their student loan payment will be. We work with your student to find out what their strengths are and what careers are best suited for those strengths.
Here's how we do it:
1. Completion of a Career/Personality Search - helps to
direct a student in a career that matches their
strengths.
2. "Student Positioning” Professional College Search with
a career counselor.
3. Completion of FAFSA - Required to go to public college
and to qualify for financial aid & merit money.
4. Register for PROFILE - Required to obtain a
PROFILE FORM.
5. Completion of PROFILE - Required to attend some private
colleges and to qualify for need-based & merit money.
6. Completion of Institutional Financial Aid Forms -
Required by various colleges.
7. Provide a College Tracking List (CTL) helping you
understand what to do next and a time frame for when
all of above needs to be completed.
8. Provide you with your Estimated Family Contribution
(EFC) as you are currently positioned and
make suggestions on how to reduce it - if appropriate.
9. Plus much much more...
