About Us
Our company is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.
We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the college planning industry.
Stephanie Mauro, CCPS Founder
Stephanie brings over 15+ years of financial services experience to College Planning 101. She has always made customer service her number one priority. She began her career with Cigna Financial Advisors where she worked with the company’s top 2 estate planners as a Staff Consultant. This is where she learned the importance of customer service and where she gained her financial services knowledge. Prior to starting College Planning 101, she was a VP of the Life Division at Frenkel & Company in New York City. There she worked with the President of the Life & Benefits Division to build an Individual Asset Protection Division to compliment their Health Benefits Division.
What motivated her to begin a career in college planning was the realization that students are graduating with $600+ to $1,000+ per month in student loan payments. When she found out there was a way to reduce those payments she got involved with college planning.
She is a graduate of Berkeley College in White Plains, NY.
Al Hoffman, Academic Advising Team
Al heads up the academic advising team at College Planning 101.
He has a team of eight consultants who provides the educational counseling and financial aid forms service to our families. Al's common sense “student positioning” coaching process has helped thousands of families’ students focus on the right major, identify the best-fit (academically, financially, and socially) colleges, and make college more affordable.
He has worked in the financial services arena since 1989 and has since committed himself to helping families attain their higher education goals. He has conducted seminars across the country, training others on the effects of the Higher Education Act as it impacts a family’s budget and is active as an educational consultant. He has helped over 11,000 families and completed over 30,000 financial aid forms.
